About the event

Welcome, and thanks for visiting Meditation to Change so you can find out more. My name is Roger, and I will be teaching the classes, find out more on the About Us page.


There are many benefits of mindfulness and meditation, with most having been scientifically proven which certainly accounts for the rise in popularity of meditation and mindfulness in the Western world.


Most people seek out meditation to help with stress and other mental health challenges, which is a good motivator. There are other benefits of mindfulness and meditation that might surpise you such as helping with pain management, inflammation and regulation of emotions.

We are all seeking some kind of happiness, and in the absence of wealth, material objects and various vices, mindfulness and meditation could just be the answer.

On a personal note, I have found that meditation has really helped me to deal with the daily stressors of life better, to worry less and to understand myself more. Meditation gives you a chance to check in with yourself, having some time to disconnect from the world and instill a sense of calm even if it is just for a small part of the day. 


The insight meditation classes are connected with Zen although this doesn’t exclude other religion or spiritual beliefs and are therefore available to anyone from any background. Everyone is welcome and no previous experience is necessary. We will practice sitting on chairs for the majority of the classes so you will not need to sit cross legged or kneel down. 


Each class will last up to 90 minutes, with a general catch up at the beginning, a topic about mindfulness and a guided meditation that will last about 25 minutes, concluding with some time at the end to reflect and ask any questions. I will offer some guidance should you wish to practice meditation in between classes.

Classes are priced at £10 which can be paid in advance online, or cash on the day is fine.
