Case Studies
See how meditation and minfulness can help you with anxiety and depression, stress, managing pain and overall mental health. The case studies are fictional.
There was a 40 year old man named James who was struggling to manage his stress levels. With two young children to look after, a demanding job, and financial pressures weighing on him, he often felt on edge and overwhelmed. He found himself snapping at his children and partner, and frequently had angry outbursts that left him feeling ashamed and guilty.

One day, James's employer announced that they were running a meditation and mindfulness session for employees. Initially skeptical, James figured it was worth a try to have an hour away from his computer and attend the session. During the session, he was surprised to find that his racing mind had quietened down a bit and he felt less stressed.

Intrigued, James started to do some meditation at home, using guided meditations and apps to help him get started. He also found a local mindfulness and meditation class near him, and started attending regularly.

Over time, James found that his stress levels began to drop. He was able to be there in the moment for his children more, playing with them and enjoying their company instead of constantly worrying about work or bills. He found that he was less reactive, and that he was able to handle challenges at work with greater equanimity.

As he continued with his meditation practice, James also found that his overall mood improved. He felt more optimistic about the future, and was better able to handle setbacks and disappointments. With time, James realized that meditation and mindfulness had become an important part of his life.
He was grateful to his colleague who had suggested he attend that first session, and to his employer for introducing him to these practices. Most of all, he was grateful for the changes he had experienced in his relationships with his family and coworkers, and for the newfound sense of calm and balance that he had found within himself.
